ZEITTER AND WINKELMANN exhibit an instrument of very large and high
dimensions; the tone is deep, but metallic and uneven ; the touch is firm. A
full-sized cast-iron frame occupies nearly the whole surface, though it does
not cover the wrest plank.
The system of regulating the action of the
hoppers to produce soft tones is not an improvement, as it is likely soon to
get out of order. In other respects the instrument is good. Second award."

3 594, Messrs. ZEITTER & WINKELMANN, Braunschweig, exhibit a finely carved
Italian walnut cottage case. The panels are bolection moulded, the carving
in the front ones being bold and good. The legs are carved with pseudo-Ionic
caps, and the top of the case has a cantilever cornice. The choice and
arrangement of wood in this case give evidence of skill, and the brass work
in the sconces and side handles is excellent."
